The Future of Cruise

Carnival UK have recently produced the ‘Cruise Report 2008′ in which they explain their vision for the cruise industry and make some incisivie predictions.

The report forecasts that there may be around five million UK cruise passengers by 2020 mainly as a result of the extra capacity in the market - 44 new ships will be built over the next five years or so. This year growth, according to the PSA, will be 15%. Even in the relative short term UK cruise passengers are set to double by 2012 to two million.

Some of the more exciting predictions include more themed cruises, event cruises where stars will perform onboard to the ship’s 5,000 guests and simulcast to other ships in their fleet, apartment-type cabins and the progression towards balcony cabins to replace inside cabins and become the standard.
