Dolphins at Reethi Beach, Maldives

I have never been a big fan of camcorders but a number of years ago I regretted not having one at a particular moment. It was whilst on a boat trip in the Greek Islands that we spotted a number of dolphins swimming alongside our boat and as they leapt in and out of the water I tried to catch the moment on my camera but inevitably missed it, whilst those with camcorders captured all of the best footage of these graceful creatures.

Recognition for the Antonine Wall

UNESCO have announced that the Antonine Wall, which once cut across Scotland from the Forth to the Clyde, is to be given UNESCO World Heritage status which puts it on a par with other great historic monuments such as Machu Picchu in Peru and the Egyptian Pyramids. (more…)

The imminent release of the film version of Mamma Mia is sure to create tremendous interest in the island of Skopelos which provides the film-set and backdrop for the movie starring Pierce Brosnan, Meryl Streep, Julie Walters, Amanda Seyfried and Colin Firth.
