Lefkada Holiday - Client Review

In October my husband and I decided to do a last minute holiday and we saw that Conexo Travel was advertising Lefkada Greece. We have been to several Greek Islands but never this one, so after doing some research on what to do and places to see we decided to book.

We arrived late evening on Wednesday 19th October and were met by a private taxi, which was a bonus as we got to our resort earlier than we expected.

We arrived at our resort, Nidri, around 10:30 pm and checked in, dropped our bags in the room and went straight out.  We walked out the back of the hotel straight onto the Promenade, where we found the port, restaurants and bars were all lit up and looked beautiful. We found a gorgeous friendly bar and spent the rest of the evening there.

We woke up the following morning with the sun shining, and decided to go for breakfast then go explore the resort.

A morning walk  onto the promenade in 25+ degree was  lovely and seeing the beautiful resort of Nidri in all its glory was absolutely fantastic. The sea was calm, the beautiful yachts were moored up, and with the mountains in the background we both thought what a beautiful place and probably one of the best resorts we have ever visited, for scenery, friendliness, and that everything is walking distance with no hills to climb;  the area is very flat and suitable for everyone. Running parallel to the restaurants and bars on the Promenade there are shops, supermarkets and another selection of bars and restaurants.

We had a good walk round and went to do the Waterfall walk which was under 1 hour walk each way, with the Island not having much rain the waterfall was dried out but the walk was still worth it.

With it being late October we found that the boat trips to other islands had just finished for the season but you could hire boats for the day, week etc. However there was a ferry from Nidri that went across to one of the Islands Meganissi for the day. The ferry went across 4 times a day and cost  €1.30 per person each way.

At Meganissi port there are 2 restaurants but what you have to do is get off and either walk up the stairs to the top of the mountain, or take the mini bus which waits for passengers and takes them.  At the top where you can get off and see the local village but we opted to stay on and go to the other side of the Island to a little place called Vathy, lovely little cove with a handful of restaurants and again yachts moored up.The cost for minibus was €1.20 each way.

This was well worth a visit and as some people decided to stay on the ferry, they just went out for the ferry trip itself, Which is worth it too.

Foer other transport options the local bus service was still running with a reduced timetable.  Once we found our way around we took the bus to the top of the Island to Lefkada and spent the day there. This was like Nidri but on a bigger and busier scale. The bus price was €1.60 per person each way.

I am going to finish off now as I don’t want to give too much information away about this beautiful Island. You will have to pop into Conexo Travel and book yourself.

Happy Holidays
