Anybody who enjoys a European city break will surely have the city of Prague high on their list. The city was ranked sixth in the best destinations of the world by TripAdvisor in 2016. Prague is a City full of culture with many famous attractions, many of which fortunatelysurvived the destruction of two world wars in Europe. Amongst these attractions are Prague Castle, the Old Town Square with the Prague astronomical clock, the Jewish quarter and the Charles University which is the oldest University in central Europe.
As you may see from the picture, one of the most iconic and visually pleasing places to visit in Prague is the Charles bridge (situated to the right of the photograph). It’s almost 10 metres wide and 621 meters long and famous for its a avenue of 30 mainly baroque statues and statuaries which are placed on the bridge’s balustrades. Since 1965 each of the statues been systemically removed and replaced buy replicas with the originals being moved to the lapidarium of the National Museum.
