Efteling Theme Park

Efteling is a theme park in Kaatsheuvel which is located in the North Brabant Province in the south of the Netherlands. The park is based on fairy tales, fables, folklore and myths and legends. It opened in 1952 and is one of the oldest theme parks in the world and is the largest theme park in the Netherlands.

The park is divided into 4 sections; Marerijk, Reizenrijk, Ruigrijk and Anderrijk. Marerijk is where it all started with the fairy tale forest and playground. Containing some of the most popular attractions. Reizenrijk is the widespread part centred around travel and discovery. Ruigrijk is the most thrill orientated part of the park and includes some of the most popular attractions. Anderrijk is a diverse part of the park and has some of the best attractions Efteling has to offer.

Aquanura is Europe’s largest water show, Aquanura’s main elements are water, fire, lights and music. It is a must see show before the park closes.

Raveleijn is an open air show based on 5 brothers and sisters who each have special talents who battle against the wicked ruler Count Olaf Grafhart and a 5 headed dragon. The show features horse riding stunts, water, fire and other special effects.

Eating & Drinking

Polles Keuken is a pancake restaurant which serves a selection of 10 sweet and 10 savoury pancakes as well as heart shaped pancakes for children which they can decorate themselves. Het Wapen van Raveleijn serves lunch and a traditional rustic 3 course dinner. Pinokkios is a dinner and entertainment restaurant which serves typically Italian dishes while you watch a puppet show. ‘t Poffertje serves hot drinks and Poffertjes which are small pancakes. Panorama serves a variety of dishes including fish and vegetarian.

Octopus, Panorama, De Gulden Gaarde and Het Witte Paard are self service restaurants which serve hots and cold dishes, pastries and drinks. There are a number of takeaway restaurants in the park. Toko Pagode serves a variety of drinks and oriental specialities. De Kleyne Klaroen serves hot and cold drinks and pastries. ‘t Melkhuysje serves a selection of drinks, milkshakes and pizzas. Station De Oost has several different takeaway counters under one roof, which offers a selection of fruit, freshly made sandwiches, döner kebabs, Turkish pizzas and juices. Steenbok is a traditional snack bar where you can enjoy a delicious bag of fries, a snack or just a drink. Accommodation



The hotel is designed as a floating castle and it has 122 rooms which are double and family, 3 tower suites and 22 themed suites which include Cinderella, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Circus and Carousel. All rooms and suites are air conditioned and have an en suite bathroom which has a bath, shower, hairdryer and toiletries. There is also a hidden TV with film and childrens channels. The hotel has free wifi throughout, a themed restaurant which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a bar which is open until 1am.

Bosrijk Village


Accommodation available in the Bosrijk Village is apartments, waterfront lodges, woodland cottages or village houses. The waterfront lodges are in a unique location and can accommodate up to 6 people, they have a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, lounge area with TV, 3 bedrooms, bathroom with whirlpool bath and walk in shower and they have a furnished terrace which has a sauna.

The woodland cottages are amongst the woods, open fields, alongside water or next to the dunes of the Bosrijk Village. They accommodate 6 to 8 people and have a fully equipped kitchen, open plan dining and lounge area, furnished terrace, bedrooms and bathroom. Apartments are located in the Gatehouse near reception and the Landhouse which is in the woods. They have a fully equipped kitchenette, lounge area, bathroom and bedroom(s). The village houses have a lounge area, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, double bedroom, bathroom and a furnished terrace on the ground floor. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom.

The village complex has a restaurant ‘Eethuys’ which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is small shop ‘Kleyn Waerenhuys ‘ where you can purchase all the basic food items you would need and on a morning they sell fresh bread and pastries. You can also order pizza which is delivered straight to your door. There is also an indoor swimming pool with a baby and toddler pool.

How to get there

On public transport take the train to Tilburg or Den Bosch Station and from there take the bus to Efteling Park or Efteling Hotel.
