If ever there was a fairytale castle then Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria is it! Built by King Ludwig II, it was opened to the public 7 weeks after his death in 1886 and today receives 1.4 million visitors annually.

Neuschwanstein Castle was the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle and was also used in many movies including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Great Escape
