First Dates Restaurant with Silversea
In July 2017, Conexo Travel were awarded Silversea Cruise “Advocate of the Month” in recognition of our work in promoting and bringing business to the luxury cruise operator. As a thank you to Conexo Travel and other advocates from 2017, David was invited to attend a celebration lunch at Paternoster Chop House, which many of you may recognise as the restaurant used in the First Dates TV show.
Luxury is the first word which springs to mind when describing Silversea. But Silversea means so much more than just luxury, it means impeccable service, intimate ships, spacious suites, and more time in your destinations.
The Silversea fleet is made up of 5 ships (Silver Muse, Silver Spirit, Silver Whisper, Silver Shadow, Silver Wind) and the line have deliberately ensured that the size of their ships (between 296 and 596 guests) retains an intimate feeling as well as allowing them to gain closer access to shore, resulting in you having more time to discover your destination. Local transportation in town is also provided in most ports of call.
Onboard your chosen Silversea Cruise is where you will really appreciate the difference. Although ships are intimate and perfectly sized, there are no cabins – only suites! These range in size but all include butler service, 24 hour in-suite dining, complimentary WiFi, pillow menu and most have a private veranda.
Freedom to dine when and with who you wish is a promise from Silversea, add to this their world class chefs combined with stellar service and a choice of 4 to 8 concept restaurants on each ship and you are sure to enjoy a wonderful culinary experience.
Silversea’s small ships visit over 400 destinations and offer 169 worldwide itineraries ensuring a broad choice of cruising options which we can combine with land stays or tours.
First Dates Restaurant
The First Dates restaurant opens its doors for single people who have never met before, and they get to know each other over a meal.
The restaurant used for the TV programme is Paternoster Chop House which is in the shadows London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral. During filming, which goes on all day and take up to 15 hours, the restaurant is closed to the public.
Last week (15 February 2018), David from Conexo Travel Haxby attended a function at the restaurant hosted by Silversea, to recognise the acievements of their 2017 advocates. This begun with a champagne reception and an opportunity to meet the two main “stars” of First Dates, Fred Siriex and Cici Coleman.
Fred Siriex acts as the maitre’d at the hotel, and in real life he works as the general manager at Galvin at Windows which is on London’s Park Lane. Cici Coleman is an actress who trained at the New York Fil Academy.
The three course lunch was excellent and the attentive waiting staff really looked after all of the guests.
If you want to visit the First Dates restaurant yourself it is easy to do although I suggest booking in advance. Alternatively, you can just call in for a drink and sit at one of the bar stools and chat with the bar staff.
