A 21 year old York man was arrested by armed police at Manchester Airport on Wednesday, after using aggressive behaviour on a Jet2 flight from Leeds Bradford. The flight, which was heading for Larnaca in Cyprus, was diverted to Manchester shortly after taking off from Jet2’s base at Leeds Bradford Airport.
Josh Strickland, 21, from Lucas Avenue in Clifton, York will be appearing at Manchester Magistrates Court today (Thursday 14 July) charged with recklessly or negligently acting in a manner likely to endanger an aircraft or someone on the aircraft, although police did state that it was not a terror-related incident.
A spokesman for Jet2.com said: “Today’s flight LS465 from Leeds Bradford to Larnaca diverted to Manchester Airport to offload a 21-year-old male passenger who was reportedly showing increasingly aggressive behaviour towards our customers and crew.”.
Jet2.com have recently adopted a zero tolerance towards these types of air rage incidents which are sadly becoming more common.
